This is a polyester thread designed to have a better appearance in the seam while being very strong.I do a lot of sewing and quilting. My favorite thread for top stitch is Sulky thread. I use it as my top stitch thread when the thread is visible. This new Dual Duty XP thread has not replaced its status as the favorite. I use Coats&Clark Dual Duty XP thread as a bobbin thread and for utility type sewing where the appearance of the thread is less important than the strength of it. The white color thread is one of my most commonly used colors, it is a true white color that matches well when I use it. The best feature of this thread is its strength, the worst is that creates quite a bit of "thread dust" in the bobbin compartment. Knowing it has this characteristic I use a "Dust off" compressed air to clean the sewing machine quite often and this prevents me from having to clean the sewing machine...
